Another one of my favorite albums. A couple of songs here were in heavy rotation spinning in my dive bar sound booth that year... This Is The Day and Uncertain Smile. The whole album is great.

The Jungle

Back in the Day

This is what I called "The Jungle" when I was a young kid. It was a special place in Logan Park. The overgrown edge of a public park where I roamed through the paths of the underbrush. I sometimes played there with some friends running around in the bushes. This is what it looks like today. Not exactly as I remember it. I did spend a lot of time in that park and in that space along Germantown Avenue. 

There was a similar space in another neighborhood park a few blocks away. Fern Hill Park also had a Jungle where we often played. That overgrown edge of the park was along Abborttsford Avenue.

I bought this album in early 1968 shortly after it was released. Since this was an early pressing my copy has the fancy 3D lenticular cover art. Very cool.

I gave this album a listen to today and it stills holds up very well.

I think I was expecting an album that was going to sound like the first single... She's A Rainbow. I really liked the songs 2000 Light Years From Home and 2000 Man and have continued to use them in mixes over the years.
