Today was the annual Strawberry Festival at the Church of the Good Shepard around the corner from us. Over the years we have gone there many times for the strawberry shortcake with ice cream desserts. Apparently this was the first time they had chicken dinners available. We skipped the dinners and just had the desserts a little later after we had some of the leftover salmon from the downtown party this week.
I was surprised to see that this was the 120th festival. Our house is 120 years old this year too.
There were a lot of people we knew at this event and we had a great time mingling. The kid also had fun. Their were toys on the site for kids to play with. Katie and Todd also ran into some folks they went to high school with.
Overall a wonderful neighborhood event. It was nice being there after a nice day at the Zoo. It was the last day in town for Katie and the kids. They are driving back to Philly tomorrow and getting ready for summer camp starting Monday morning.
