Dublin Pubs & Restaurants 2019

These are the restaurants and pubs we visited during our trip to Dublin in August. Once again before the trip Becky and I spent some significant time researching the pubs, cafes and restaurants of both Dublin and Edinburgh. We also reviewed our previous notes on London. We marked good places on a Google map that we would later download to our phones to guide us in these cities. We also marked museums and other attractions and then selected nearby places to eat and put them on the map. It all really helped.

Urban Brewing
Tuesday Aug 27
Day drinking in Dublin down the street from our hotel along the river after just arriving in town.

A nice pub with a fine selection of beers brewed on location. Craft brewing in Dublin. Gotta love it.

Had their Ubbe Kveik Lager
A Freebird White IPA from O'Hara Brewery
Becky had a Stiegl-Weisse Naturtrub hefeweizen from Stieglbrauerei zu Salzburg. I had some and it was a very good German beer on tap in Dublin.

Harbour Master Bar & Restaurant
Tuesday Aug 27
First Guinness... fish and chips. Mushy peas too. Food was wonderful.

The Guinness Draught was delicious.

A traditional Irish pub located in the Temple Bar neighborhood of Dublin. We really enjoyed our meal there.

Drank a Five Lamps Dublin Lager by Five Lamps Brewery and a Guinness.

The Oak Pub
Wed Aug 28
A continental style cafe bar on Dame Street where we met friends for drinks.

Drank Guinness of course.

Ely Bar & Brasserie
Wed Aug 28
We stopped for a nitecap down the street from our hotel to end a very busy day in Dublin.

This bar was in the same building at the Urban Brewery from the previous evening. It also contained the Stack Restaurant in the lower level which was actually a grotto. We walked around down there and planned to come back.

Hop House 13 Lager by Guinness
Krombacher Weizen by Krombacher Gruppe

Guiness Storehouse
Thursday Aug 29
We had a tour guide drive us around Dublin all morning as part of our travel package. It was nice. It was just us and the guide in his van. Later he dropped us off at the Guinness Storehouse where we took the tour of the brewery and had a bite to eat.

And of course we hung out in the rooftop bar and drank some Guinness Stout. Becky had Guinness Lager.

Had a Asahi Super Dry Japanese Rice Lager from Asahi Brewing
