Glass of Beer - Bitches Brew

Working on the new PCA website with Miles live at the Fillmore on the stereo and enjoying one of my favorite seasonal brews.

Miles Davis' Bitches Brew, an imperial double stout from Dog Fish Head Brewery. I love this beer but it is sometimes hard to find anymore. I first had this beer in January 2013 according to my Untappd app.

The Black-Eyed Blonde

The Black-Eyed Blonde by Benjamin Black, 2014

Read in January 2016

Of course Benjamin Black is really the Irish novelist John Banville and this novel is a wonderful adaptation and reinvention of the classic detective Philip Marlowe.

I've read two other of his Benjamin Black crime novels and three literary novels under the John Banville name.

I have several more of his novels on my to read list that I should get to.

Mummers Parade 1966

It's New Year's Day 1966 and I'm marching in this parade somewhere with the Uptown String Band. Playing my saxophone, doing that strut and wearing them feathers. Yep, some 50 years ago and I was 14 years old. I marched in that parade from 1963 to 1968.
